EKK Food Group provides only premium fresh fruits and vegetables. Essential to our operations is the responsibility to ensure the food safety and quality of all products that we distribute. EKK believes that the responsibility for achieving quality service lies in the effective execution of each employee’s job. Food safety is the responsibility of the leadership team and every employee that has direct or indirect influence on the purchasing, sorting, packaging, manufacturing, storage and the transport of products.
EKK is committed to continuous quality and food safety improvement, which is measured, evaluated and validated through internal audits, 2nd and 3rd party audits, HACCP, and Management Reviews. The following food safety principles are the foundation of our commitment:
Meet or exceed all statutory and regulatory requirements for quality and food safety.
Ensure sustainable food safety and quality performance through implementation and certification of effective food safety and quality management systems in compliance with SQF, a HACCP based system, and the Global Food Safety Initiative.
Build food safety and quality capability through structured programs that develop technical skills, increase awareness, manage risk and drive increasing levels of excellence.
California Warehouse EKK Food Group’s U.S. based warehouse in Vernon, California, strategically located less than 2 miles from the Los Angeles Produce Market and close to California’s Central Valley growing region, giving us access to a full line or produce, year-round. Our warehouse houses 5 coolers/boxes, our shipping/receiving area, and office space in a 50k square feet. Our warehouse operates 24 hours a day, 362 days a year. We maintain SQF Level 2 certification and are USDA certified.
South Korea Warehouse In South Korea, we maintain 22,773 square feet of cold storage at a central warehouse. The warehouse complex houses a building of 30 freezers, a refrigeration building with 20 coolers, and storage warehouse space. The warehouse is equipped with an Autonomous Management Patent Security Area, a quarantine point for FF&V and meat, a permitted bonded area, and a registered food preservation site. Our warehouse is 1 hour from Seoul, 30 minutes from Pyeongtaek port, and 4 hours from Busan Port.
